For generations, Sumol has been a vibrant part of everyday life in Portugal. But in a world of shifting tastes and growing choice, the brand needed to reassert its role, not just as a drink, but as a cultural icon.
With a new wave of drinkers emerging and loyalty from older generations to protect, our challenge was to evolve the brand’s identity to resonate more widely, without losing the spirit that made it iconic in the first place. Our job was to turn Sumol’s authenticity into a living, breathing identity system.
The idea of being “refreshingly real” was our creative foundation. A celebration of people being proud to be themselves. From a reimagined logo to a dynamic illustration style and a confident new tone, every element of the refreshed identity captures Sumol’s bold spirit.
The new reimagined logo drives associations of the sun and the glass bottle cap, both of which are deeply rooted in both the brand name and the iconic origins of the drinking experience. The balance of green and red embeds intuitive brand recognition whilst subtly reflecting Sumol’s Portuguese heritage for new generations and geographic reach.
The new visual world is vibrant, assured and timeless - designed to stand out on shelf, online and in culture.
